RRR has been a game-changer, captivating the Japanese audience for a staggering 40 weeks since its release. The film's remarkable journey began in May, crossing the JPY 2 billion gross mark in Japan and continuing to conquer the hearts of moviegoers. To date, RRR has amassed an impressive JPY 2.25 billion ($16.65 million / Rs. 136.70 crores) in Japan alone. Moreover, the film's total overseas collection has reached an astounding $45 million, securing its position as the 8th highest-grossing Indian film on the international stage. Worldwide, RRR has earned a phenomenal Rs. 1252 crores. To further expand its reach, a Japanese dubbed version is set to release, and it seems that a one-year run is almost certain, a feat that would have been unimaginable just a year ago.

Pathaan, featuring the iconic Shah Rukh Khan, has been captivating audiences worldwide since its original release in January. The film's triumphant journey saw a historic release in Bangladesh in May, where it outperformed even the likes of Avatar 2, grossing $225,000 with over 1 lakh tickets sold. Recently, the Russian audience also had a taste of Pathaan with its dubbed version, contributing a commendable $52,000 to the film's overseas collections. The film's total overseas earnings have now reached an impressive $49.20 million (Rs. 403 crores), with further plans for a Japan release in September.

Rangasthalam, a 2018 Telugu film starring Ram Charan, took advantage of the heightened interest generated by RRR's success and made its way to the Japanese box office last week. Despite being a five-year-old film and in limited release, Rangasthalam has performed exceptionally well, raking in JPY 20.85 million ($140K).

KGF, with both of its installments, KGF and KGF: Chapter 2, joined the party and made their mark in Japan as well. Each film grossed JPY 10 million ($70K), and the second chapter secured the position of the fourteenth highest-grossing Indian film internationally.

Despite these outstanding achievements, Dangal retains its position as the undefeated champion in the list of highest-grossing Indian films overseas, with an astounding $215.35 million. Secret Superstar follows closely behind, with $118.70 million, and Bajrangi Bhaijaan secures the third spot with $70.80 million. Baahubali: The Conclusion and Pathaan claim the fourth and fifth positions, grossing $61.50 million and $49.25 million, respectively.

As Indian cinema continues to captivate global audiences, these films prove that borders are no boundaries for exceptional storytelling. With more releases planned and audiences eagerly awaiting each cinematic masterpiece, the future looks brighter than ever for Indian cinema on the global stage.
